Modelling Tip Of The Day – 36

This Modelling Tip Of The Day is an ongoing series, in which we’ll be posting a modelling tip that may be of use to the newbie right up to the seasoned modeller.

Today’s tip is:

Electric Screwdriver

During the building of a layout at some point, you’ll be using a screwdriver. If you’ve not got one already it’s highly recommended to use an electric screwdriver. Not only does this speed up the job but saves time, but saves getting sore & aching wrists. A browse in any tool/DIY shop, online etc you’ll find one to suit your budget. They generally available as cordless & come with a built-in battery & supplied with a recharger in these designs:

  • Straight type
  • Pistol grip type
  • Adjustable handle type
  • Cordless drill type.

Most come with a selection of screwdriver bits including a handy magnetic screwdriver bit attachment. Think which design will suit you best? Ask yourself will you fitting screws in tight corners or spaces on the layout or have unobstructed space for fitting screws? For tight spaces go for the small pistol grip or adjustable handle electric screwdriver.
